The enthusiasm and generosity of a local veterinarian inspired Dr. William Hannah to embark on the same career path.
Growing up in Santa Barbara, he first studied Microbiology at Westmont College, earning his bachelor's degree, and went on to study for his master's at Northern Arizona University, where he graduated in 1976. Years later, Dr. Hannah enrolled in veterinary school at Colorado State University. Before graduating in 1994, he gained experience by volunteering in a local veterinary hospital.
Joining the Southwest Veterinary Hospital staff in 2012, Dr. Hannah is most interested in internal medicine. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Veterinary Information Network.
He most enjoys "eliminating a disease process and seeing the results after a surgery."
At home Dr. Hannah has three small dogs and two cats. These include Olive, a terrier; Isabell/"Izzy" a Chihuahua-Miniature Pinscher mix; and Fiona, a Chihuahua; as well as cats Joey and Thirsty. He enjoys music, reading, skiing, mechanics, and carpentry.
